A big 'THANK YOU' to our volunteers!

Our Turn Nevada Blue Dinner in January at the Carson Valley was a great success.

Special thanks to Nevada State Party Chair, Jill Derby, who served as our emcee and, with State Archivist Guy Rocha, did a touching tribute to the late Sallie Springmeyer. Cory Farley, former columnist with the Reno Gazette-Journal, was outstanding as our keynote speaker.

We also heard remarks from Gen. Paul Eaton (ret.) who spoke for the Hillary Clinton campaign, former Congressman David Bonier (D-Mich.) who is the national director of the Edwards for President campaign, Steve Platt, Chair of the Carson City Democratic Central Committee, who spoke as a representative of the Barack Obama campaign and Douglas High student Jesus Palma who spoke for Dennis Kucinich.

We especially want to commend the DCDCC Fundraising Committee chaired by Bud Orange: Marie Lekumberry, Jo Ann Orange, Jo Sprinkle, Ruth Strand, Beth Swanberg and Chuck Vickrey. They did a terrific job.

Acknowledgement and thanks to the following for their donations: Carson Valley Inn, Douglas County Democratic Women, Casino Fandango, Cindy Farmer, Gottshalks, Greta Hambsch, J.T. Basque Restaurant and Bar, Laborer's International Union Local 872 and Cynthia Trigg.

Gim Hollister, Chair
